Kenyon Update

This is just a record keeping post so I don't forget a few things.

Kenyon is walking...almost running around the house now. He can stand up on his own. He can go down the stairs by himself. Still a little wobbly because he goes down forward by sliding his bottom down the stairs and steadying himself with the wall. This is dangerous too because the downstairs is not Kenyon proof like the upstairs is. There is potpourri down there and dog food and dog water...so many interesting things to put in ones mouth:) Yuck!

He has two teeth on the bottom and four teeth on the top. They are small, but there.

His hair is growing well and probably needs a trim in the back.

He loves to talk on the phone.

He loves animals, especially the fluffy dogs that will snuggle with him.

He is also a sucker for soft stuff: blankets, animals, pillows, etc.

He is still taking two naps a day. Normally he will go down for a 2-3 hour nap in the morning around 9 or 10 and then an hour to 2 hour nap in the afternoon about 2-3pm. He still goes to bed at 6pm but is getting up a little earlier at 7:30, unless he is really tired and then will sleep til 8am...so nice:)

I can't feed him enough. He is too distracted and busy to really sit and eat well. I am trying to find high fat, nutritious foods to get into him. He looks healthy to me, but I know he is low on the weight scale for his age and height. Nice round tummy and legs though:) Porter loves food time too because Kenyon likes to share his food with the dog and tosses the puppy snacks while he is eating. I try and discourage this, but sometimes it is just so cute to watch.

He loves to be outside and definitely gets a daily dose of dirt in his diet. Kenyon is convinced the street and gutter is the funnest place to play so I really have to stay close. We also like to play catch. He is getting pretty good at throwing, for a 1 year old, and plays with the dog and the ball at the park. They are still working on the fetch thing together...Mommy usually has to help get the ball to the baby from the dog. I don't think Porter quite believes that the baby will actually throw the ball for him and he is right. Kenyon will run around for a few minutes with the ball before he throws it unless I am there to tell him to throw it.

What else????? Oh...Kenyon likes to dance to barn yard music from his toys. Very cute!

AND he has learned to do Patty Cake, Way High, and give high fives....kind of...again this is a 1 year old version of all these things.

That's all I can think of now but that should help with his history.

Trailers and Ice cream truck

Friday, April 18th, Jeremy, Kenyon and I went looking for camping trailers. We started out thinking of just getting an enclosed trailer for extra strorage, but then we saw that tent trailers where not much more so we started looking at them. Then I made the point that I didn't care about any of the niceties of a tent trailer if it didn't have a shower and toilet which lead us to look at the bigger trailers. So now we are looking at travel trailers.

When we got home from window shopping we where pretty tired and dirty so Jeremy jumped into the shower and I dumped the baby into the bathtub. As I got Kenyon out of the tub I heard the ice cream man in the distance. I nomally don't noice because we never have cash around the house because we always use our cards, but just the day before we had some cash for something, so I yelled at Jeremy to follow the truck. He of course was already on the cell phone with an improtant call, but he rushed out the door anyway with cell phone in hand. I strapped a diaper on the baby and grabbed some pajamas and we head out the door baby naked and all:) We caught up with Jeremy on the corner where we lost the sound of the truck but headed in the directions we thought it had gone. We could hear the truck and then not, then pick up the sound again and then loose it. I was so silly just running down the streets trying to hear the ice cream truck. Finally we spotted him and I made my last final dash. Now...if I knew my neighborhood a little better, I would have known he was headed into a circle and would not have arrived at the truck red faced and winded, but I didn't know he would have to turn around and head back our direction:) I must have looked a sight because the driver apoligized for not seeing me sooner and was so nice to give me an ice cream while we walked back to Jeremy with the money. We diffinately made the ice cream man's day by getting 6 ice creams. We walked back to the house slowly, ate our ice cream, talked to a few neighbors, and before we went into the house...guess what...the ice cream man drove right by our house. We just smiled and waved. As crazy as it sounds, we had the best time running around with our bare feet and pulling pajamas on the baby as we went just to get some overpriced ice cream:) Such a good memory for our family!!!

Long time no post:)

I think when things are going well and the sunshine is out I don't really sit down to write what is going on. Which is probably bad because this is when we do the most stuff. SO I will try to keep a little record of the past couple weeks:)

April 12Th
Card exchange group: I got to meet with my ladies and see how everyone is doing. May is our last month before we take off for the summer so I want to make a really cute card. My April card turned out well but I spent way to much time looking for just the right clip to go on the card and then never even found the "mini bulldog" clip. oh well.....the "mini binder" clip looked good too:)

This Saturday we also got to start working on our yard. The lawn was planted in July 2007, I think, and then never got cut that I know of. When we moved in the lawn was like 2 feet high and the snow did not help at all:) So we cut it. Jeremy started the work, but then I sent him to get supplies and I finished. He told me how to work the lawn mower, but I must have missed the part about the self-propelled function because I just manually pushed that mower up the hill on the side of our house. I had bruises on my hands and I think I reinjured my knee. When Jeremy got home and showed me the how to do the self-propelled I was more than pissed. BUT BUT BUT as I went over the lawn for the second time I started to see the blessing it was that I didn't use the self-propel thing. The lawn mower, even on the second time around moved faster than the machine could put the clippings in the bag. By mowing the lawn manually, I went slow enough that all the clippings went into the bag and I didn't have to rake or pick up any clippings off the lawn...BLESSING. I did however fill up two super trash cans with all the mulch:) The grass is beautiful and so pleasant to play on:) All the neighbors also had to stop by as I was mowing and let me know I was doing a good job on the two feet of grass. I don't think one car drove by without a comment to me:) Thanks neighbors.

Kenyon and I finished up the weeding throughout the week and we both got a little sun kissed while we played outside. Jeremy and I want to do a garden in the back and shrubs and trees on the side. I think that we have a few more weeks before we can plant, but we are both getting so excited about tomatoes and squash and getting our hands in the dirt. I love being outside.

WELCOME LILY!!!

My bother James and his wife, Lisa had a baby girl today!!!!

Lily was born in St. George this afternoon at 1:42pm. She weighs 8 lbs 6 oz and is 19 inches long. Both Mommy and Baby are doing great and I pray for James and the other four chipmunks at his house:) Congratulations and we love you so much!!!!!

IT'S A GIRL!!! (we think)

I went to the Dr. yesterday and it looks like we are having a girl. It is so nice to know and now the grandmas can go crazy shopping for her:) I am also so thankful for technology that lets us look at the babies heart, face, legs, stomach, bladder, etc and just check to see how they are doing. Everything looks great for our little girl and the Dr will double check the gender, heart and stomach next visit. It was so cute because she was just moving and kicking all around when the Dr was doing the ultrasound. It makes me think she is happy and healthy. What more could a mom want?
